LA TERRE GARDEN GROUP MEETING – November, 2018

La Terre Garden Group Meeting
7:30 PM Wednesday, November 28, 2018
7725 Cohn Street, New Orleans, 70118

La Terre Institute is initiating a gardening group for the “Artemisian Fields” regenerative agriculture project at Bayou La Terre.  You are invited to join us. Through collective gardening, the gardening group will put into practice La Terre Institute’s guiding principle of Appamāda, or mindful care, and its concern for the development of participatory ecological community. An area of about 4000 square feet has been allocated initially for this organic gardening project. We will meet to discuss the parameters of the project and the benefits and responsibilities that will be associated with membership in the group. Monica Clark, who has been an organic farmer, and is presently a gardener, academic and activist, has generously volunteered to share her knowledge and skills as Mentor for the group. Monica is the author of the book Mentor the Garden Mentor (“a twelve-month gardening curriculum for low income/ethnic/marginalized communities and the organizations that serve them”) and is host of the program “Dig This” on WHIV 102.3 radio.
