I have been asked by the Louisiana Himalaya Association to coordinate the Tibetan Women’s Scholarship Fund. The fund will help many Tibetan refugee women, and through them, their extended families and the entire Tibetan refugee community. I am extremely grateful for what the Tibetan community has contributed to the world, to India and other countries, to me personally, and to many people I know.
Tibetan women have been making remarkable advances in recent times. They will achieve even more in the future, especially if they can gain access to higher education. I am honored to be able to play a small role in the effort to help Tibetan women and the Tibetan refugee community. I hope that you will join in this effort, if you are able and moved to do so.
